Dylan Dreyer and her husband, Brian Fishera, are mourning the loss of two close friends.

The Today star's partner, a cameraman for NBC, took to social media on Wednesday, Feb. 28, with an emotional tribute following the death of Stacy Wakefield, who passed away earlier this week, just five months after her husband, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield.

"Heartbroken," Fishera opened the caption of his Instagram upload. "A friendship I’ll cherish forever and a family I’ll love forever. Rest in peace Stacy. I miss you Timmy."

He wrapped up the post, which featured a duo of images of himself with the late couple, by sending love to the Wakefields' children: "Brianna and Trevor we love you."

The news of Stacy's death following a battle with pancreatic cancer was announced on Wednesday via a family statement shared by The Red Sox's Instagram account. "It is with deep sadness that we share that our beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, and aunt, Stacy, passed away today at her home in Massachusetts. She was surrounded by her family and dear friends, as well as her wonderful caretakers and nurses," it read.

"The loss is unimaginable, especially in the wake of losing Tim just under five months ago. Our hearts are beyond broken," it added. "We will remember Stacy as a strong, loving, thoughtful and kind person, who was as down-to-earth as they come," the family said. "We feel so lucky to have had her in our lives, and we take comfort in the fact that she will be reunited with Tim, the love of her life."

Tim passed away just months earlier at the age of 57, after battling brain cancer.

Dreyer previously shared a message regarding the loss via social media, writing, "A few months ago, we lost our dear friend #timwakefield. They honored him with his number on hole 18 at #hgvlpga. @fishlense and I had tears in our eyes when my ball landed within 10 feet from this tribute. We miss you every day Wake!!" in January.
