Dwyane Wade and Rick Ross: NFL Team Co-Owners?

In June of 2006, Dwyane Wade clinched the Miami Heat's first NBA title. That same summer, Miami's own Rick Ross dropped "Hustlin'," which went platinum and catapulted Ross to stardom. Since then, Wade's secured two more titles, a Hall-of-Fame career résumé and retired a legend, while Ross is still shouting out the 305 on his recently released 10th studio album, Port of Miami 2. And in the new GQ Sports series "One on One," the duo talk about how they did it all—and more.

The mutual appreciation society of Wade and Ross talk for nearly an hour about their careers, fatherhood, and what lessons they learned from watching one another. They reminisce about the biggest clubs in Miami, and debate...everything: whether Ross is a better hooper or Wade is a rapper, if it's possible to own too many cars, and the best basketball movie ever. They get serious, too, talking about fatherhood, why they've both felt compelled to speak up on social issues, dealing with haters—and in Wade's case, retiring after 16 seasons. ("I don't look back like, man, I miss it," Wade says.)

Ross, on the other hand, isn't planning on leaving the rap game anytime soon. But he's thinking about options when he does: "Let's say the opportunity presented itself," says Ross to Wade, "and we had the opportunity to buy ourselves an NFL team. Is that something we move forward on, or don't?"

"I move forward," says D-Wade, completely serious. "I move forward on it."

"I'm glad," says Ross, as they shake hands.
