DWTS' Peta Murgatroyd Surprises Maksim Chmerkovskiy With 'Unexpected' Family Announcement

The Dancing with the Stars family is growing yet again—because professional dancers Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are expecting their third child.

On Monday, Feb. 5, Murgatroyd took to Instagram to reveal she's pregnant with baby No. 3 less than seven months after welcoming her second child.

"We Are Having A Baby 🎉🙈🙏🏻," she captioned her post. "Yes we know…we just had a baby… haha! This was very unexpected at (4 months postpartum with Rio) but we are sooooo happy and so ready to be a family of 5 soon!"

Also in her announcement, Murgatroyd offered a behind-the-scenes look at how she spilled the exciting news to her husband. "He is not going to know what hit him," Murgatroyd says to the camera before FaceTiming Chmerkovskiy. "Oh my God. I just gave birth! All right. Let's just do it."

The soon-to-be mom-of-three called her husband—but instead of immediately announcing the pregnancy, she offered subtle hints that went right over Chmerkovskiy's head.

"I was really, really nauseous today, like, just wanted to vomit the entire day," she told him, also mentioning, "I did a test, and thank God it's not COVID," while eating a pickle with a fork.

Murgatroyd later declared, "I think we need to move out of Malibu and get a bigger place...I feel like we just... We need another extra bedroom."

Finally, Chmerkovskiy noticed she was preparing two bottles at the same time instead of one, and he asked what was going on.

"This is what I'm trying to tell you," she said while holding up a positive pregnancy test.

Chmerkovskiy replied, "Babe, stop. No way! What? Babe, you're pregnant?!... I'm tearing up, but wow, babe. I'm so...I'm very happy."

At the end of the phone call, Murgatroyd cheekily declared, "Okay bye, call me tonight. Love you, father of three."

In the comments, Instagram users reacted to the big news. One person wrote, "Whaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!???? OMG!!!!! Congratulations!!!!! I can’t believe it!!!" while another person declared, "Omg amazing !!! So happy for you and your beautiful family ❤️."

Yet another Instagram user wrote, "Omg Mazel Tov!! How exciting! 💜"

Meanwhile, someone else commented, "'Father of 3 good bye' 😂,"

Congrats to Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy on their soon-to-be family of five!
