Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, 48, is easily one of the funniest guys to follow on Instagram. The beyond-silly gym videos and snaps of his ridiculously cute pup never cease to make us giggle to ourselves. But what we love most are the heartfelt posts the former wrestling star dedicates to his wife, 36-year-old singer-songwriter and music producer Lauren Hashian. While Lauren appears to fly under the radar, the Young Rock star has been more than open about his true feelings for her. And based on what he's said to the press and on social media, it's clear that their bond is as strong as ever.

Finding love again

Their story begins back in 2006 when Dwayne and Lauren's paths first crossed while filming on the set of his movie The Game Plan, several outlets confirm. At that time, Dwayne was married to producer and professional body builder Dany Garcia. Together, they had a daughter and named her Simone Alexandria.

Shortly after Dwayne and Dany divorced in 2007, he and Lauren began seeing each other. Despite his split with Dany, the ex-wrestler asked if she could be his manager in 2008, according to Marie Claire. Dany has held the position ever since.

In an interview with Esquire in 2015, Dwayne revealed he had been living with Lauren for "eight, nine years now," which tells us that the two quickly moved in together after becoming official. Looking back on the early days of their relationship, the actor told People that he felt extremely lucky to have fallen in love all over again.

"To fall in love again? That’s a hard thing to do twice in the position I’m in. I’m one lucky son of a b---h.”

Enduring hard times together

The two have been through some tough obstacles, including the untimely death of Dwayne's dear friend and Fast and Furious costar Paul Walker in 2013. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dwayne recalled where he was when he found out, and how Lauren was right by his side in that heartbreaking moment.

"I was driving with Lauren when she immediately turned very quiet and was looking at me, studying, wondering if I knew. I pulled over and looked at my messages and had a moment where I just caught my breath. We said a prayer right then to give his daughter strength — because we had talked about our daughters. That's what we would talk about. Both of us were divorced, and we talked about the power of being a dad and the strong connection of a dad and his girl. Then once we got home, we started bawling."

Lauren was also there when Dwayne revisited his struggles with depression from the past and the challenges he has faced over the years in trying to maintain his mental well-being. In an Instagram post from 2018, he shared his thoughts and memories of his mom's attempted suicide while filming a scene from The Ballers, where his character toasts his brother who committed suicide.

"Struggle and pain is real. We’ve all been there on some level or another," Dwayne said in the caption.

When a fan recently told him he was suffering from depression, he reportedly wrote back, "I hear you. I've battled the beast more than once."

Growing their family by two

Just one week before Christmas in 2015, the pair had their first child together and named her Jasmine.

"I was right there during labor, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible," he noted on Instagram. "As men, it's a miracle we should witness because it'll give you a whole new respect for the strength and beauty of a woman."

A few years later in April 2018, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Tiana. To announce the news, The Rock shared another equally touching post. In it, he reflects on all the "strong, loving women" in his life and the ever-growing admiration he has for Lauren after watching her deliver new life into the world.

"If you really want to understand the single most powerful and primal moment life will ever offer — watch your child being born. It's a life changer and the respect and admiration you have for a woman will forever be boundless."

The Rock isn't the only one who loves sharing pictures of his adorable girls. Lauren shares snapshots of their life with their two kids here and there. From what we can tell, they're both rockstar parents.

Dwayne is never shy about his admiration for Lauren as a mother.

"Lauren does it all with a big genuine smile and is truly, the kindest and sweetest soul you’ll ever meet," he gushed in an Instagram post for Mother's Day. "Take a bow and Queen it up — you’re an amazing mama and amazing mamas make this world go around."

No rush down the aisle

For years, it seemed like the couple might never tie the knot. There were even rumors that the pair had already married in secret.

"I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, 'Oh, did you get married?'" the action actor told ET in 2018. "I'm like, 'No. Easy. Don't rush big daddy.'"

However, on August 18, 2019, the couple exchanged vows in a low-key Hawaiian ceremony. In an Instagram post, The Rock shared news of the private affair.

"Our Hawaiian wedding was beautiful and I want to thank our incredible staff for their outstanding work," he wrote. "To carry out my #1 goal of complete privacy, no wedding planners or outside resources were hired. Everything you see was created by hand, by staff and family only."

Lauren posted even more photos of the seaside ceremony, writing that she was on cloud nine.

Dwayne disclosed to Insider that the goal is keeping his family close and trying to balance his and Lauren's hectic work schedules. But the ultimate secret to their relationship — which Dwayne dubs "the greatest relationship" — is their ability to always make each other laugh.

“First of all, she teases me about everything. Everything,” he told People for his Sexiest Man Alive interview in 2016. “Nothing is off limits in our house. And it’s the beauty of it. And I tease her with everything.”
