It's happening. Dunkin' is joining the plant-based meat movement, and this moment is even more magical than I could have ever expected. The menu launch, a Beyond Sausage Breakfast Sandwich, is already making waves for obvious reasons (i.e. IT'S DELICIOUS).

Dunkin' announced the partnership this morning. Currently, it's only available in Manhattan (lucky for me, not so much for all you non-New Yorkers out there), but it'll hit stores nationwide. When? That I can't answer, but a rep for the brand did say they've got "plans for future national rollout." So all hope is not lost.

According to the press release, the breakfast sandwich features a Beyond Meat sausage patty, egg, and slice of American cheese on an english muffin and has a suggested retail price of $4.29. It packs a whopping 10 grams of plant-based protein.

"Dunkin' is truly an iconic brand and part of the fabric of so many communities. Partnering with them as the first U.S. restaurant chain to serve Beyond Breakfast Sausage represents not only an exciting moment for both of our companies, but a big step forward in making plant-based meat accessible and easy to enjoy, even while on-the-go," founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, Ethan Brown, said in a statement. "I look forward to seeing consumer reactions to the product offering and partnership."

To celebrate the big launch, Dunkin' hosted a tasting event July 24 with a "ceremonial first sample" served by Brown and Dunkin' CEO and president David Hoffman. I, on the other hand, will be having my own ceremonial first sample tomorrow morning before work.
