Dune: Part Two Popcorn Bucket Angers Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin hates the Dune: Part Two popcorn bucket, going so far as to call fans of it “idiots.”

The divisive piece of merchandise, created to promote upcoming action epic Dune: Part Two, sticks a rubber sand worm mouth on top of a popcorn bucket through which the eater must thrust their hand to access the popcorn.

It looks weird, and Brolin, who stars in the film, isn’t buying it.

"If I see a bunch of people in the theater with one of those freaking buckets in their hand, I'm gonna be like, 'Okay, you're an idiot,'" he tells ET, linked below.

Brolin adds, "I'm not gonna stick my hand in there. Like, I'm good. I'll starve. Unless I'm getting a Milk Dud out of it, forget it."

Not everyone hates the popcorn bucket, however. Fellow Dune: Part Two star Dave Bautista's response was far more enthusiastic. "I was the exact opposite,” he says. “I was like..." then proceeds to pretend stuffing his face with popcorn.

As for Florence Pugh’s thoughts? “It’s not OK.”

Dune 3 is almost finished, confirms director Denis Villeneuve, but he's keeping real quiet on whether that film's getting a popcorn bucket tie-in.
