Dumpster Day coming up in Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WETM) — The Village of Watkins Glen is holding a disposal event for its residents.

Watkins Glen residents can bring large trash items and documents that need to be shredded to the Schuyler County Shared Services Building, located at 910 S. Decatur St. (behind Tops), between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, for Dumpster Day. A shredder truck will be on site for secure document disposal.

Humane Society of Schuyler County to participate in Empty the Shelters event

Most household appliances, furniture, mattresses, plastic, and wood will be accepted. Metal will also be accepted, but it needs to be separated from other debris. The following items will not be accepted: refrigerators containing Freon, hazardous waste, garbage, computers, TVs, tires, paint, and chemicals.

This event is free and only open to residents of the Village of Watkins Glen. Participants in this disposal event must bring proof of residency.
