Brenna Clanton of Austin, Texas had dreamed up the perfect Christmas gift for her fiancé, who had proposed to her in June. He and Clanton were big fans of the Dallas Cowboys, and so back in October Clanton secretly shelled out for up-close seats to the Cowboys' Dec. 26 home game against the Lions and a stay in an Airbnb nearby, the Dallas Morning News reports.
A week after Clanton bought the tickets, her fiancé dumped her, telling her they had "nothing in common"...by text message. Still, Clanton decided that she "was absolutely going to go" to the game, she told the Dallas Morning News: "I was just going to take my best friend instead." She also took a handmade sign that read, "My fiancé dumped me in a text message. He should have waited until after Christmas."
At the game, journalist Alex McDaniel spotted Clanton and her cheery sign and snapped a photo that captured Twitter's attention. If the response tweets are any indication, there are more than a few fellow sports fans who would be happy to take the jilted Clanton on a date. Publicizing your ex's douchebaggery - calling off an engagement by text, seriously? - is definitely one way to get back in the game.
@AlexMcDaniel buy her all the beers. She's a catch

@AlexMcDaniel I'm sure guys in the stadium saw her sign. If they're not trying to pick her up, they should be considered a moron like her ex
