The dumped dog that changed colour after rescue
As before and after pics go, this one may take some beating...
Meet Oliver. On the left is how he appeared when abandoned outside a dogs home in Wolverhampton on a "freezing cold evening". On the right is what he looks like now, one year on from his ordeal.
So dramatic is the makeover, the long, matted and seemingly dark-brown fur has made way - following a canine shampoo and set - for an altogether different look.
And with his shorter, golden locks on display, the team caring for him has said he is now ready to start looking for a new home.
A spokesperson for Birmingham Dogs Home's centre in Wolverhampton said: "[Oliver] has been receiving round-the-clock care from our dedicated team, he has received fantastic support from you, our supporters, and he is a different dog.
"He is very loving and gives us the biggest smile when we greet him.
"He is still very nervous, which is to be expected considering what he has been through, but he is a true delight to be around."
The charity, which also has a centre in Solihull, rescues about 2,000 dogs every year.
It runs a Sponsor a Kennel appeal, where supporters can help pay for the daily cost of heating kennels, washing bedding and buying food and treats for the animals.
