"What A Dump!"- Swiss Ski Resort Pounded With Snow

Yesterday, Swiss ski resort Verbier 4 Vallées saw over a foot of snow.

The resort showed off the wintry bounty in an Instagram post depicting its buried snowstake.

Following the storm, Verbier 4 Vallées announced today that they will open for skiing and riding on November 10th. Game on!

Elsewhere, in Austria, Pitztaler Gletscher, a Tyrol-based ski resort, is already open, and its conditions look, well, really good.

Here's professional skier Valentin Rainer making the most of the early-season pow.

The arrival of winter across the continent is entirely welcome news for our European friends. As you might've heard, last season was a bit of a slush fest across the pond, with inconsistent conditions and warm temperatures putting a damper on the skiing.

Now, they seem to have us Yanks beat in the early-season skiing department.

Am I jealous? Well, yeah. Obviously.

It's supposed to be almost 50 degrees where I live in Montana this week -- downright balmy for November. However, as much as it pains me to see others live my wildest dreams, it's good to know that somewhere, someone is getting after it.
