Duchess Of Cambridge Throws Dinner Party For The Obamas, Dresses Up In L.K. Bennett

When you’ve got A-list guests like the Obamas popping over for dinner, you make sure you dress up. And that’s exactly what the Duchess of Cambridge did last night when she welcomed the US president and his wife to her official residence in Kensington Palace.

The mum-of-two, who greeted the duo from the steps of the palace with Princes William and Harry by her side, picked out a smart printed midi dress by one of her favourite high street labels, L.K. Bennett.

The brand’s “Addison” dress, which boasts sheer sleeves and a flecked print, is a fraction of the price of some of her other dresses and costs just £325. Predictably, since she wore the number last night it’s gone out of stock proving that the so-called “Kate effect” is still going strong.

Wills and Barack looked dapper in suits while Harry opted for a “casual Friday” approach and dressed down in jeans and a jacket. Michelle, however, looked just as on point as Kate in head-to-toe camel, a la Kim Kardashian.

The First Lady donned a co-ordinated coat, jumper and lace skirt - a far cry from the fuchsia Oscar de la Renta dress she wore earlier in the day to have lunch at Windsor Castle with the Queen and Prince Philip.

But the highlight of the evening had to be Prince George, who was photographed playing on his rocking horse with Kate, dressed for bed in his bathrobe.
