A Sussex and Instagram reunion may be in the works, after all.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, revealed that she has plans to get back on Instagram in a new interview with The Cut.

"Do you want to know a secret?" Meghan said to writer Allison P. Davis. "I’m getting back … on Instagram."

During their time as working royals, Meghan and Prince Harry shared updates on their work through their @SussexRoyal Instagram account. But, after announcing that they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family in January 2020, the couple discontinued their activity under all @SussexRoyal social media handles (The Cut notes that "they could no longer use royal in their branding.") They made their last Instagram post on March 30.

Prior to forming @SussexRoyal, Meghan was at the helm of her popular lifestyle blog, The Tig. However, upon her engagement to Harry, she deactivated her Instagram and Twitter accounts. While she loved sharing her life with her friends and fans on a public platform, she told The Cut, she loved Harry more.

"It was a big adjustment—a huge adjustment to go from that kind of autonomy to a different life," she said.

That adjustment included handing over photos of her child to the U.K. media pool, dubbed the Royal Rota, especially given her tense relationship with the British tabloids.

"There’s literally a structure by which if you want to release photos of your child, as a member of the family, you first have to give them to the Royal Rota," Meghan explained. "Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child? You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game."

Meghan previously opened up about the adverse effects of social media in a 2020 interview with Fortune.

"For my own self-preservation, I have not been on social media for a very long time," the duchess said at the time. "I made a personal choice to not have any account, so I don’t know what’s out there, and in many ways that’s helpful for me."
