To kick off Queen Elizabeth's four-day long Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the 2022 Trooping the Colour parade has at last returned to Buckingham Palace.

The annual ceremony typically honors the Queen's birthday, but has been modified for the past two years due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and social distancing guidelines. Today marks the first time that Prince William and Kate Middleton—as well as their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—have attended the annual Trooping the Colour parade since 2019. (The Cambridges were notably absent from the scaled-down affairs that took place in 2021 and 2020.)

For the occasion, Duchess Kate arrived in an ivory white coat dress, which she paired with a navy blue hat with white trim. For accessories, she color-coordinated with sapphire and diamond earrings and necklace, which matched her iconic 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire engagement ring.

Kate rode in via carriage along with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Camilla wore a striped light blue dress with a matching mint blue hat.

Meanwhile, Prince William, has already arrived at the festivities as part of the Irish Guards.

To attend the parade in previous years, the Duchess of Cambridge typically opted for monochrome pastel looks. She last wore a sunny yellow dress by Alexander McQueen and a matching hat by Philip Treacy at the 2019 celebration. And, in 2018, Kate color-coordinated with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in a pale blue spring dress.
