Dua Lipa Schools Us on How to Wear an Oversized Suit at the "Variety" Hitmakers Brunch
The world is Dua Lipa's boardroom and we're just spinning around in office chairs, trying to get a closer look at her haute (and hot) couture. We've got quite the crush on Ms. Lipa's latest outfit — an oversized pinstripe suit.
We're no strangers to seeing Dua put on her business casual best. After all, she's been meeting with world leaders on the reg lately, celebrating her new Albanian citizenship and accepting her title as Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo (in a high-slit gown, no less). She even caught up with Queen Camilla at the 2022 Booker Prize for Fiction ceremony. After seeing Dua hang with the best, we've determined she must live by the motto "When bumping shoulders with influential figures, you better wear shoulder pads." And her latest look is no exception to this rule.
Showing up to Variety's 2022 Hitmakers Brunch at City Market Social House in Downtown LA on December 3, Dua mingled with the likes of Selena Gomez (who per Variety, said she "would love" to collaborate with Lipa, FYI 👀) and Jack Harlow. The "Sweetest Pie" singer was wearing her business best — an oversized, gray suit with white pinstripes from The Attico's Resort 2023 collection. A single button, notched lapels, and pocket flaps detailed the jacket, which Dua decided to go topless underneath. The bottoms of the baggy separates pooled at Dua's ankles, showcasing the chunky, lug-soled, patent leather dress shoes she wore. Black rectangular sunglasses, and a variety of Rainbow K jewelry, including a silver lock pendant necklace, a two-tone gold chain, and silver links. Her signature long locks were worn in loose waves that trailed over one shoulder. To add a pop of color to the neutral 'fit, Dua painted her nails a bright cherry red.
The Future Nostalgia touring songstress was honored as Variety's Hitmaker of the Year, alongside her "Cold Heart" collaborator Elton John. Just last month, she joined Elton onstage for his final North American concert at Dodger Stadium. "Thank you @variety for the Hitmaker Of The Year 2022 Award that I get to share with the GREATEST @eltonjohn ~ big love to the dreamteam⭐️ @pnaupnau ⭐️ @davidfurnish ⭐️ what a yeaaaaaar!" Dua captioned the IG carousel filled with pics and vids from her time at the celebratory brunch.
