Dua Lipa Returns to Instagram with a New Red-Hot Hair Look
Dua Lipa has returned from her Instagram hiatus—and she has a new look.
The pop star shared an Instagram post today debuting her new fiery red hair. In the image, Lipa lies on a bed wearing a red, white, and blue striped sleeveless tank top, her straight hair flowing about. She looks directly at the camera, seemingly wearing minimal makeup.
“Miss me?” she wrote in the caption. She also tagged film director Tyrone Lebon in the post, potentially teasing an upcoming movie project.
Lipa's last movie collab was in Greta Gerwig's Barbie. Lipa made a cameo as Mermaid Barbie, with her colorful wavy hair, in the instant cult classic—a character who may have inspired the star's new hair look. Lipa also created a song,“Dance the Night,” for the film. The dance track earned her two MTV Video Music Awards nominations this year, for Best Pop and Best Choreography.
Prior to her Instagram hiatus—in which the singer deleted all her prior posts from her feed—Lipa was posting outfit photo dumps almost daily, and heavily leaned into the Barbie aesthetic for the summer. In August, for example, she stepped out to party in a metallic pink minidress pulled from Diesel’s Resort 2024 collection, the dress featured spaghetti straps and an elegant draping detail attached at her waist. Lipa accessorized with a bulky gold chain necklace and an asymmetrical purse in an orange-and-yellow snakeskin print from the Attico. “All I do is beach,” she captioned the post at the time, referencing a joke made by Ken (played by Ryan Gosling) in the Barbie movie.
