Dua Lipa Is a Cool Cowgirl in Her "Love Again" Music Video

Dua Lipa said saddle up.

In the new visuals for her song "Love Again," the singer takes on a Western vibe with a modern twist as she rides a mechanical bull, square-dances with a stylish crew, and wears a cowgirl hat like it's her job. The video also has some surreal elements, as cowboys ride invisible animals and try to lasso a giant floating egg.

The best part, perhaps, is the clown makeup by Lisa Eldridge, which seems to poke fun at the lyrics, "You got me in love again." The hook comes off as a head-over-heels profession on the page, but with the visuals, Lipa gives it a cheeky deeper meaning: Falling in love with another person, knowing from past experience that it could end badly? Foolishness. Absolute clownery. (But we do it anyway.)

Lipa and her crew impressively filmed "Love Again" while they were rehearsing for her BRIT Awards performance. "Learnt the choreo in 45 mins, kept adding outfits mid shoot but we did the damn thaaaang!!" the singer said of the shoot on Instagram. We can thank her stylist, Lorenzo Posocco, for the impromptu rodeo ensembles, which include a vintage-inspired fringe jacket, spotted coat, and pink strapless look by Blumarine.

"Love Again" comes from Lipa's Future Nostalgia album, which debuted in March 2020 and gave us songs like "Levitating," "Don't Start Now," and "Physical." More than a year later, the Grammy-winning LP is the gift that keeps on giving. We tip our cowgirl hats to that.
