It might have only been a few weeks since Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid were first spotted dancing at a Lionel Richie concert in London’s Hyde Park together—and in the process, became Gen Z’s latest power couple overnight—but it seems that spirit of romance has already worked its way into their wardrobes. The two stepped out last night for dinner in Hollywood wearing outfits that felt effortlessly in tune: Lipa wore a polka dot crop top, high waisted black trousers, and clunky black shoes; while Hadid, who lovingly hung his arm around Lipa’s shoulder, went for a bucket hat, black cropped pants, and—you guessed it—clunky black shoes. More importantly for gossip sleuths, Hadid sported a retro graphic baseball cardigan that was barely buttoned and revealed some major male cleavage. The plot twist? It was the same cardigan that Lipa wore to Glastonbury all the way back at the beginning of July, just after she first met Hadid. They might not have confirmed their romance publicly, but it seems they’re already happy to dip into each other’s closets.

And why wouldn’t they? Sure, celebrity couples matching their outfits in public can sometimes read as unsubtle (Britney and Justin’s double-denim numbers, we’re looking at you), but on a day-to-day level, sharing items of clothing just means your mutual tastes are in sync—and if you’re looking for a healthy relationship, that isn’t necessarily the worst place to start. Maybe Hadid learned the sartorial tactic from his older sister Gigi Hadid, who was open about sharing her wardrobe with three-year boyfriend Zayn Malik (and he vice versa), perhaps most memorably on their shared 2017 cover of Vogue. So while Lipa and Hadid might be deep in the throes of young love, they aren’t the first couple to share their wardrobes: but let’s hope—especially given Lipa’s likely bursting fashion closet—that this isn’t the last time Hadid borrows a piece or two for date night.
