Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid Are Reportedly "Taking a Break"

Cuffing season or not, it looks like Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid (yes, that Hadid) are taking some time apart. The two were first seen together in July 2019. Since that summer, they've hit the red carpet at various events together, but sources close to the duo said that the two are currently spending time away from one another and that they're on "a break."

"Dua and Anwar are currently taking a break from their relationship and are spending time apart," a source told People. "They're figuring things out right now."

Back in 2019, the two attended the British Summer Time Music Festival in London and later confirmed their relationship at the Marc Jacobs fashion show in New York. Anwar's sisters, Gigi and Bella, walked the show. That fall, Dua and Anwar hit the red carpet together at the American Music Awards.

Dua revealed that she met Anwar at a barbecue. "We actually met at a barbecue," she told Andy Cohen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in 2020. "But then it carried on onto DMs."

Lipa had grown close to the entire Hadid family, even taking trips with Yolanda, Bella, and Gigi.

"Dua is very close with the whole Hadid family," a source told E! News. "She has spent a lot of time with them over the last few months and they have really welcomed her with open arms. Yolanda Hadid loves her and is happy to see Anwar so happy."

Lipa even talked about having a relationship in the public eye during an interview with British Vogue, though she didn't mention anything about a public breakup.

"We have all these incredible memories and experiences, and if there's something that we want to share together, then OK that's fun. But at the same time, we're quite private," she said. "We'll only show you as much as we want you to see. It's a little bit of give and take, trying to find the right balance of being so excited and being in love, and wanting to share that with the people around me, but at the same time not wanting to put too much out there. I want to be able to just be happy in this relationship without having other people's opinions."
