Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid Pull Off the Ultimate Styling Don’t at Burberry

Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid are fashion’s It couple of the moment. Given their respective careers—Lipa a singer, Hadid a model—it’s only natural that their combined style is full of fashion wins. Just take last week during New York Fashion Week, when they brought a dash of West Coast flair to Manhattan (think easy, California-cool pieces). Flash-forward to this week, and the pair are now across the pond in London for the Spring collections. Today, they were fashionable front-row fixtures at Burberry—and for the event, they pulled off the ultimate styling don’t, proposing it as a major do for the looming knitwear season.

The tricky styling job in question? Wearing stripes with plaids. The two stars served up clashing sweaters that worked together, despite the odds. Lipa wore an oversized striped sweater, pairing it with a lacy bodysuit underneath. She then gave it a fashion show-worthy finish with strappy stilettos and a leather box bag. Hadid, meanwhile, met her stripes with Burberry’s iconic plaid pattern, tying a jacket printed with it across his torso. He left the rest of the ensemble classic with a black tee, neutral trousers, and low-top sneakers (also in the check print, natch).

So, should you be wearing plaid with stripes this fall? The pair may have divided up the prints between the two of them, but there’s no reason you can’t clash the two in a single outfit (a striped scarf with a plaid sweater, for instance)—the secret’s all in the bold confidence while doing it.
