I wouldn't say I'm a shampoo snob, but since I started dying my hair, I've been more careful about the products I use — and how they affect my hair. I've tried dozens of high-end, pricey brands, but I learned just because something is expensive doesn't mean it’s going to work.

My hair is stubborn and prone to looking dry and frizzy if not taken care of properly, so finding a shampoo that thoroughly cleans without leaving my roots greasy and my ends parched is essential. Anything that smells too good usually sops up my hair’s natural oils, while products labeled as "moisturizing" tend to weigh it down, making it look limp and oily. (There's usually no bounce to it, either.)

So, while there are a few higher-priced shampoos out there that have given me decent results, I’ve come to learn, through a lot of trial and error, that nothing beats Renpure's plant-based shampoo. Not only is it affordable, costing $8 for a 24-ounce bottle, but it leaves my hair softer and shinier than pricier alternatives. It also gives my hair a bit of a curl — like the kind you get after a long day on the beach, which I love.

Renpure Coconut and Vitamin E Shampoo

This budget-friendly shampoo is available in a variety of scents, but I prefer the Coconut and Vitamin E Shampoo. Its subtle scent reminds me of summertime (think: hints of orange and coconut, ahh), but it's not overpowering. Plus, it's made with plant-based ingredients like coconut oil, vitamin E, and coconut fruit extract that nourish and hydrate my hair without weighing it down or giving me that greasy, never-been-washed feeling.

Unlike other shampoos I've tried, Renpure lathers well and rinses out easily, which I need in a shampoo. Other brands always leave me squeezing out handfuls of product just to get a somewhat decent lather, but with Renpure, a little goes a long way. It also has an easy-to-use pump (the bottle is made from recycled plastic), so I don't have to fumble with a slippery bottle in the shower.

But where Renpure really stands out, at least for me, is after I get out of the shower. At first, I thought maybe my hair looked so good because I was drinking more water and taking better care of my overall health, but after using Renpure for just a month — then taking a brief, week-long break while traveling — I realized the new bounce and shine my hair had was thanks to the shampoo. And the thing I love the most is that I don't even have to blow dry it to see these voluminous, high-shine results. I can let it air dry and get a beachy, textured look with very minimal effort. Other shampoos don’t have that same impact, which is why I keep reaching for this one.

More than 1,000 Amazon shoppers agree Renpure's simple formula and affordable price make it a top choice for achieving healthy, beautiful hair. One shopper with "short, thick, curly hair" said that Renpure's plant-based shampoo has made a noticeable difference in texture and shine. "My hair feels soft to the touch, manageable, and the natural curls lay nice," they wrote. Another reviewer noted the bottle lasted them 45 days, which is impressive considering its affordable price point.

So, if you're looking for a shampoo that'll give your hair a salon-quality look without the salon price tag, Renpure's plant-based shampoo is definitely worth a try. You can shop my go-to on Amazon, plus a few more options from the brand below.
