If there's one thing Love is Blind stans can't stop talking about, it isn't how Lauren and Cameron are literally #relationshipgoals (although they are) or which of the couples are still together (R.I.P. Kelly and Kenny). Instead, it's...drumroll please...those metallic wine glasses that kept popping up in every. single. scene.
Everything that went down in Love is Blind was anything but typical, so it kind of makes sense that the couples' stemware deviated from classic glass wine glasses to those copper chalices that were used in nearly every scene from Mark and Jessica's bedroom floor picnic date to Kelly and Kenny's waterfront wine sesh.
It seems like wine or some sort of libation made an appearance in every scene, but Chris Coelen, one of the show's creators, told OpragMag.com that despite the Love Is Blind contestants' many imbibing sessions, no one was ever pressured to drink. "We wanted them to make the decisions and them to control their destiny. It wasn't like, 'Hey, guys! Cocktail party time.' Whatever you wanna do, do it," Coelen explained to the publication.
The wine glasses have caught the attention of many a Love is Blind viewer on Twitter, and some have pretty strong opinions on the glassware choice. "The strongest commitment on Love Is Blind is Netflix's commitment to those metallic wine and champagne glasses," wrote one fan.
Meanwhile, another fan is still looking for some answers: "I know this shouldn’t be the lingering question I have after watching the Love is Blind finale, but why did everyone always drink out of those metallic wine glasses?? This will keep me up at night."
While Netflix hasn't released any info about the significance of these wine glasses, one thing's for sure: You can get a pair for yourself on Amazon for just $20.98. And if you want to keep the Love Is Blind momentum going, you can break 'em out while sitting behind a wall and pretending you're just getting to know your new soulmate.
