  • She recommended trimming them with a small pair of rounded scissors, not plucking.

  • The how-to video is part of Drew's Beauty Junkie Week on Instagram.

Actress Drew Barrymore is continuing her #BeautyJunkieWeek by sharing her favorite beauty tips and tricks with her Instagram followers. Her latest topic? How to properly get rid of nose hairs (yep, really).

"#BeautyJunkieWeek nose hair edition! Here are a few of my tips for keeping nose hairs at bay - all you need are go-to beauty staples from @tweezerman and @qtips !!" she captioned her video. (Btw, it's worth watching the full thing for Drew's adorable candidness alone.)

"A funny thing I tend to forget about is nose hairs," she says in the beginning of the video. "I have done one of those machines that plucked everything out, and I felt like a naked gazelle. I felt so sexy, I was like 'Oh my god nude nostrils?! Everything!'" Then, however, Drew recalled that she got "horribly sick" and thought her newly nude nose might be the cause. "I was like maybe there is something to those protective fibers of nose hairs?" she recalled in the video.

And Drew is definitely right. You should never pluck your nose hairs.

"They not only help filter out any incoming invaders, but they move slowly to push together and trap dirt from reaching the breathing passage and gaining access to the bloodstream," Julie Russak, MD, of Russak Dermatology Clinic in NYC, previously told Women's Health. "Removing nasal hair will make the nasal cavity and sinus completely vulnerable to whatever gets in. As a result, you’re very susceptible to allergy attacks, sinusitis, and respiratory infections."

Instead, she says you should stick to trimming, as Drew demonstrates. "When the nose hairs to grow long, powder gets caught in them, and it's not very attractive," she explains. "I'm actually going to go with the word disgusting."

She then proceeds to show her fans exactly how she trims her nose hairs. "So what I like to do is take these kinds of scissors, you can buy them on Amazon, and they're rounded. You can actually get right in the nostril and start trimming around it," she says as she snips. "And because they're rounded, they won't cut you, they're safe to use in and around the nose."

She finishes by grabbing a Q-tip, wetting it with her mouth, and then moving it around the inside of her nostrils to sweep out any excess hairs.

"I never thought I would ever want to watch someone do this. However I will watch Drew do anything. Drew you make everything look cute," one of her followers commented.

"Love this!! 🙌🏻 And love how real this beauty tip is.#reallife 💜," another fan said.

"Baaaahhhhaaa... I love you Drew. You keep it realz!!!" wrote yet another.

(I couldn't agree more.)
