Drew Barrymore and Jax teamed up for their own rendition of "E.T." by Katy Perry.

Ahead of the singer's appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, Oct. 11, she took to Instagram to share Gertie's story, a song from the perspective of the character Barrymore portrayed in the 1982 classic film, E.T.

In the tune, Gertie is opening up to her therapist 40 years later about the alien she encountered as a little girl. Jax plays the part of the therapist, singing to the tune of Perry's hit song. She starts by asking the question, "So you mean to tell me that you and your brother hid an alien from your mother?"

An annoyed Gertie responded, "Yes! His name was E.T.," to which the therapist responds, "Imaginary friends are common."

As the song went on, Gertie seemingly lost faith in the process, singing, "you're just like all the others," noting that no one believes her about the encounter. The therapist still didn't believe her story, so Gertie continued to elaborate, explaining everything that she witnessed when she was just a kid.

"ET by @katyperry From Gertie’s Perspective Talking to Her Therapist 40 Years Later ft. @drewbarrymore 👽 👧 I’m gonna be on The Drew Barrymore Show tomorrow if you guys wanna watch me fangirl 😭" the singer captioned the clip.

Jax rose to fame through her TikTok, receiving a record deal during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.

Her single, a body positivity anthem called "Victoria's Secret," scored her a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Jax previously noted in a video that she wrote the song for a young girl she used to babysit to address body issues head-on. The song calls out the lingerie brand and company founder/former CEO Leslie Wexner, though it never mentions him by name.

The release nabbed the attention of the brand's current CEO, Amy Hauk, who wrote Jax a letter, stating that she had addressed "important issues" surrounding the brand and body positivity.
