How Is It Made?

Cozy Earth bedding is made from the highest quality bamboo viscose from bamn textiles. They’re designed to be cooling, typically a few degrees cooler than traditional cotton bedding. Unlike cotton bedding, Cozy Earth bamboo bedding doesn’t pill, and is guaranteed to last at least 10 years. Bamboo is also one of the most renewable resources there is.

The bedding is free of toxins and chemicals, and all dyes are responsibly used, free of harsh, dangerous materials. Everything is a durable, double-weave fabric that is not only strong, but incredibly soft and sumptuous.

Why Do I Love It?

Fun fact: I have a disability that requires me to lie down quite a lot. I am also a creature who loves her comforts, and if I'm going to be forced to lie down more than your average bear, I'm going to do it with as much luxury as humanly possible. Two problems with that: first being that I don't have luxury money, and second, the sustainability practices of some bedding companies are more than a little murky.

Cozy Earth Bedding isn’t cheap, but it’s not Etro or Missoni expensive, either — it’s what I like to call “a reasonable splurge.” And because they are made of arguably the most renewable material on planet Earth, and they’re made to last for at least a decade (but definitely more), the value is really well worth it.

I suppose I should mention my husband and his experience too, after all, he shares a bed with me too. I love the man — really and truly — we’ve been together for 19 years. But he’s like a human furnace at night. I swear to you, the minute that man falls asleep, his body clicks on like a heated blanket. Not kidding. Because he’s basically nocturnal molten lava, he loves that the sheets are so cooling. We’d never been a top-sheet couple before. Eschewing them in the name of temperature regulation, but with Cozy Earth bedding? We’ve become top-sheet people. Do you know what that means? It means I don’t have to wash the duvet cover every week — and anything that lessens my weekly laundry load is a winner in my book.

But even if I did have to wash the duvet cover every week, Cozy Earth has actually that easier. In every corner of the sheet, and once on each side, Cozy Earth gives you snaps to attach the duvet cover to the duvet insert — which means no frustrating ties or buttons. They're truly a thing of beauty, and they really keep that duvet solidly in the cover with no bunching or mashing.

As for the real feel of these sheets, and how they compare to a pricier cotton sheet, I can tell you that there is no comparison — Cozy Earth sheets are way better. I have a set of extremely expensive high-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets that were gifted to me in a press package for very fancy brands, and while they are great, and really pretty, they're nowhere as soft or silky as Cozy Earth. I literally will just rub my cheek against the pillow as I lay down because I like the feel of it under my face. On clean-sheet day? I make it a point to shave my legs and moisturize like it's prom night just so that I can hop in the bed and rub my legs back and forth like a particularly excited cricket.

I even bought an extra duvet cover and sheet set just so that I never have to sleep in other sheets if I don’t want to. I’m thinking about buying the throw blanket they sell just so that if I want to add texture to the bottom of my bed, it will be just as soft as the bedding.

The Final Word

If you want luxury bedding that you know is sustainable, durable, and beautiful, you want Cozy Earth. It's a great addition to your home. Yes, in the liminal space between seasons, you may still reach for linen or flannel sheets, but when the heat is blasting or the air conditioner is needed, these will be the sheets you put on your bed, week after week.
