She's Back! Abby Lee Miller Confirmed Elliana Walmsley's Return to 'Dance Moms'
Elliana Walmsley was a member of the Abby Lee Miller’s mini elite dance team. She made appearances in the sixth season but didn’t become a full-time, permanent member of the minis until the seventh season of Dance Moms. Consistently pitted as star dancer Liliana Ketchman's main competition, the 11-year-old dancer earned top scores in several group numbers, duets and solos during her time on the show. And based on this week’s Dance Moms: Resurrection episode, it looks like she will be returning to the ALDC.
Like most all the dancers on the brand-new ALDC Elite team, Elliana has danced practically since she could walk. And for such a young age, she’s earned herself several impressive regional and national titles, including 2018’s Best Mini Dancer Award at the prestigious TDAs (The Dance Awards). Even if you’re not a regular Dance Moms fan, you may recognize her from her stint on Dancing with The Stars Juniors, where she competed as pro against another Dance Moms alum Mackenzie Ziegler.
In the season 8 premiere, Elliana was introduced as a member of Abby’s new team. We saw Elliana, Liliana, and Maesi (another dancer from season seven) leading the auditions for the new hopeful members of the team, each wearing a shirt that said “Abby’s Army.”
“I think Lilly, Elli and Maesi all thought they were safe,” Abby says in an interview. “But I think they should be a little nervous. You never know who’s going to come in and pass you right up.”
That, however, was the last we saw of the 11-year-old. This week, however, at the end of dramatic competition Abby announced that Elliana would be returning to the ALDC as a member of the elite competition team. (A shock to the team after Brady Farrar was kicked off the previous week.) Abby said she felt Elliana would be a good fit for the team with the other girls. This news, however, did not sit well with two mothers: Erin, mother to Savannah Kristich, and Stacey, mother to Lilliana Ketchman.
Stacey and Elliana's mother, Yolanda, have a difficult past. The two even got into a physical altercation in season 7. Erin, however, was more worried what Elliana's return would mean for her daughter's spot on the team, as Elliana has a history of beating Savannah in competitions.
One thing's for sure, it won't be an easy road for Elliana. In her introduction video, she says, “I feel a lot of pressure since I'm returning member. Abby expects me to be the best because I’ve been here to longest out of anybody, so hopefully I impress her and will have gotten better since she last saw me.”
