Shortly after LeBron James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader in the Los Angeles Lakers' 133-130 loss to Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this week, celebrities began to share congratulations for the basketball superstar. Included in the mix was Drake, who decide to put together a short video dedicated to LeBron James.

Unexpectedly airing during NBA on TNT, the playful video shows the Canadian artist addressing LeBron offering sincere congratulations for achieving the historic moment in Oklahoma City. Going on to claim that he had gone to Akron, Ohio, the birthplace of LeBron, to mark the moment.

"LeBron, what a legendary night in NBA history. You’re breaking the all-time scoring record," said Drake in the video. "And to honour that, I had to come back to the place that it all started: Akron, Ohio. Every journey has its beginnings."

Suddenly, the green screen slips from the stand holding it up and reveals that Drake is at a club in Miami and not in Akron. Admitting he lied, Drake calls the women behind him over and they come together to congratulate LeBron James on his achievement. Drake went on to continue celebrating the moment by posting an image of himself on his Instagram Stories with the caption, "Congratulations my brother @kingjames they probably will have something new to say tmrw but for now enjoy the praise which is like silence to us."
