Drake made a shocking announcement on the day of the release of new album, For All The Dogs.

While appearing on Sirius XM's Table For One, the rapper revealed that he's taking a hiatus from music. He said, "I probably won't make music for a little bit, I'm going to be honest."

At first, the Degrassi alum kept his decision vague, saying, "I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won't make music for a little bit."

The 36-year-old then decided to disclose on air the true reason why he wants to step away from working for a bit. He explained, "I need to focus on my health, first and foremost and I'll talk about that soon enough."

He assured fans that it was nothing to be concerned about, noting it was "nothing crazy, but I want people to be healthy in life and I've been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach." Drake didn't share what exact stomach issues he'd been dealing with, but said his time away from the studio would be for "maybe a year or something, maybe a little longer."

The Canadian artist has kept busy lately, releasing LPs For All The Dogs, Her Loss, Honestly, Nevermind, and Certified Lover Boy within a two-year span. In terms of the promises he hinted at, it's possible he's speaking about being around more for his five-year-old son Apollo, who drew the album art for the dad's latest record.

The hiatus announcement also explains why Drake postponed his co-headlining "It's All a Blur" tour with 21 Savage indefinitely.

Fans took to social media to voice their support towards the rapper, championing his decision to prioritize his health.
