Dragon’s Dogma 2: A Poisonous Proposal Guide – How to Get the Ring of Purification

Dragon's Dogma 2 poisoned Arisen

You pick up this quest in the pawn-safe area of Bakbattahl, in the northwest of the capital city. Just opposite the tavern, there’s a building with an NPC called Jarle who tells you that you have a lovely, healthy tongue, which is an extremely normal thing to say to someone. He’ll ask you to aid him in his research and send you off to be poisoned by an Asp in the first stage of A Poisonous Proposal.

Head to the area marked on your map and engage with the Asp there. The trick is to take a beating and try to let them spew gunk on you. As soon as you get a notification that the quest has updated, beeline straight back to Jarle.

When you turn it in, he’ll ask you to be poisoned by a venin harpy. Like last time, it’s a simple case of heading to the area marked on your map, purposely getting your butt kicked, but this time by harpies, and then heading straight back as soon as the quest log updates.

Once you’ve spoken to Jarle, he’ll ask you to accompany him as he tries to be poisoned by a chimera. This quest isn’t timed, so you can meet him at the quest marker whenever you’re ready. As with the others, you just head to the location and do your best to draw the fight on until Jarle is poisoned. Don’t forget, you can pick him up and pull him closer to the action if he ends up too far away. Once he’s poisoned, finish the chimera off and meet him back at his lodgings.

As a reward for properly completing the quest, you’ll be given the following:

  • 5,000 XP

  • 19,000 Gold

  • Ring of Purification

This is the only time you can acquire the ring in a single playthrough. It prevents the wearer’s blighted value from accumulating, preventing you from being killed by poison.
