Gillette Venus Intimate Grooming Skin-Smoothing Exfoliant Preshave
See below for Dr. Sheila's favorite products to keep your skin looking gorgeous and feeling great this summer.
Bliss That’s Incredi-Peel Glycolic Acid Pads
This glycolic facial peel smooths, evens and brightens your complexion while you sleep to leave your skin looking luminous and renewed.
"It's really important to exfoliate in the summer because we're getting exposed to sunscreen getting slathered on our skin, we're sweating...I love these glycolic acid pads by Bliss," shares Dr. Sheila. "It helps slough off that dead skin, unclogs pores, and brightens."
Kiehl's Micro-Dose Anti-Aging Retinol Serum
This potent retinol serum is formulated with pure retinol in a daily-strength microdose along with ceramides and peptides to renew your skin.
"Retinol is the OG of skincare and anti-aging...it helps increase cell turnover, and also helps with acne," shares the doctor. She suggests switching to a gentler retinol in the summertime, and highly recommends this Kiehl's Micro-Dose Serum.
EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46
For this skincare regimen, Dr. Sheila says to switch to a higher-SPF facial sunscreen. She says: "This sunscreen is formulated with lactic acid, which helps reduce the appearance of pores and oiliness!"
Almay Clear Complexion Foundation
"This Clear Complexion makeup by Almay is one of my favorites because it's formulated with salicylic acid, which helps decrease oil production, helps treat and prevent acne, but it's not that irritating because it's formulated with pre-biotics and aloe vera," notes the doctor.
Gillette Venus Skin-Smoothing Exfoliator
Use this to gently remove dead skin and wash away sebum, dirt and oils that can lead to trapped or ingrown hairs. Dermatologist- and gynecologist-tested.
"A must have," enthuses Dr. Sheila. "We also [need to] exfoliate the areas we shave, such as the bikini line. I like this one because it's gentle but helps decrease ingrown hair and irritation from shaving."
