Dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee, MD, is best known as Dr. Pimple Popper, but she's also the Pimple Whisperer, draining hard-to-reach sacs of fluid and lending an ear to all her patients, who share wild stories of how their skin changed over the years. In her newest Instagram video, a farmer talks about a tumor he recently had removed while Dr. Pimple Popper squeezes all his blackheads with a comedone extractor.

It's fascinating to listen in on their conversation. "I think it's pesticides and herbicides," he says, referring to the tumor. "You grew up on a farm, you said?" Dr. Pimple Popper asks. "What did you guys farm?"

"We had row crops, citrus, and avocados," he replies. The video then cuts to a blackhead that drains a dark, toothpaste-like clog. It's a pretty low-key video, perfect for recruiting new popaholics who might not be ready for the "ricotta" cyst drainage. Maybe for a "Friday follow," Dr. Pimple Popper told her fans to tag a friend in the comments: "TAG them down below! ⬇️ Then tell them to SWIPE for the #pimplepopping #drpimplepopper

FYI: Blackheads are hair follicles clogged with sebum — the oil secreted by the sebaceous gland — and dead skin, per Dr. Pimple Popper. They're caused by a buildup of oils on the skin, irritation of hair follicles, hormonal changes during puberty, menstruation or on new forms of birth control, or taking certain drugs, like lithium. They're easy to see on the surface of the skin, since the hair follicle is exposed — if it stayed closed, the pimple would be a whitehead.

To treat blackheads, many people exfoliate, wash their face twice a day, and use oil-free skincare products. In serious acne cases, some opt to take prescription medication. And of course, you could always hit up your local pimple popper to extract them!
