Dr. Pimple Popper Inspects a Man's 'Jawbreaker' Cheek Cyst in Exclusive New Video

From Men's Health

Kevin has a ponytail that goes down to his butt, but that isn't even the most striking thing about his appearance. In an exclusive clip from TLC's Dr. Pimple Popper, Kevin goes to see Dr. Sandra Lee, MD about a large lump protruding from his left cheek. He describes the growth as feeling like a "jawbreaker pressing up in there," which sounds quite unpleasant.

"Honestly, the biggest reason I'm here is really to feel better for myself overall," Kevin says before his consultation with Dr. Lee. "You know, I'd like to actually be able to go out in the world and hang out and meet people."

In his first meeting with the Instagram-famous dermatologist, Kevin explains that the lump has been there for around six years. As Dr. Lee examines it, she asks the question that's obviously on everyone's mind: "Were you ever able to squeeze anything out of it?" (Answer: "Never, actually. It never rose to the surface.")

Dr. Lee's first guess is that the "jawbreaker" is a cyst. "It feels very mobile," she says. "It moves around really well, so that's a good sign." But as with many Dr. Pimple Popper procedures, this one won't be easy. "Along the jawline, it's sort of like a landmine," Dr. Lee explains to the camera. "You need to avoid all these little nerves and muscles and blood vessels there that are really important to create movement in the face, to have sensations in the face."

Despite her concerns, Dr. Lee leaves Kevin with a message of confidence: "We got a jawbreaker...that's a dealbreaker...and we're gonna turn you into a heartbreaker."

At the end of the clip, Dr. Lee preps Kevin for the procedure. "I am definitely anxious about all this going on," Kevin tells the camera. "There's a chance that if she does hit a nerve, I can end up only having half a smile instead of a full smile. Those are all freaky things that could actually happen, but this is definitely a risk I'm willing to take."

Find out what happens when Dr. Pimple Popper airs Thursday at 9/8 central on TLC.
