  • In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper pops some pimples on a young man’s temples and jaw.

  • The acne, which appears to be cystic acne, is likely filled with a collection of dead skin cells and oil, like most cysts.

  • Many fans were sympathetic to the young man's skin situation, commenting that they too experienced cystic acne in their teens.

Ah, to be young. The lack of responsibility, the low stress and the horrible, terrible acne. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—pops some pimples on a young man’s temples and jaw. And legions of her fans are hitting the comments of the video with the same message: “Been there.”

In the clip, Dr. Lee pops several pimples on a patient’s temples and jaw using everything from a comedone extractor to her fingers. The acne appears to be cystic acne, which is often hard to address in especially serious cases. In the video, Dr. Lee mentions the patient is taking Accutane, a drug used to treat the most difficult cases of cystic acne.

"That looks so sore," one fan commented in the video. "Poor guy." Another fan shared their own experience with acne-fighting medication in the comments, writing "Accutane is the pits, but my skin is amazing after taking it as a teenager."

Cystic acne, like any cyst, is often filled with a collection of dead skin cells and oil. The bumps can become irritated, painful and inflamed, making addressing the condition about more than appearance.

“I could watch this all day,” one fan commented. Well, that makes one of us.
