One side of your brain really wants that bottle of soda, but the other side knows that it’s filled with sugar. While Dr Pepper certainly isn’t the first — and we doubt it’ll be the last — it is the latest soda brand to jump on the no-sugar train by introducing Zero Sugar varieties.

Thanks to Reddit/u/SlimFastJim, we get a visual of Dr Pepper Zero Sugar, which comes in three flavors. According to the picture, there are Dr Pepper Zero Sugar, Dr Pepper Cherry Zero Sugar, and Dr Pepper & Cream Soda Zero Sugar options. That last one is the newest among the three and launched in 2020.

“Coming soon: Dr Pepper Zero Sugar. I’m not certain on whether or not this is a complete re-brand of Diet Dr Pepper or an entirely new line all together,” the Reddit user wrote.

For those who aren’t Dr Pepper superfans, the brand already has Diet Dr Pepper, which has 0 grams of sugar. So what’s the difference between the Diet and Zero Sugar? To be honest, we have no idea. We’ll have to wait to hear from Dr Pepper. However, since a regular 20-ounce bottle of Dr Pepper has 64 grams of sugar, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to switch to another option that won’t rot your teeth (as much?).

Another Reddit user, Tacoman404, who says they are affiliated with the company, commented on the post saying that “We might replace [Diet] in the long-run in our regional only due to how we limit the SKUs we carry. For instance we no longer do diet cherry pepper.” While the imagery gives us hope that Dr Pepper Zero Sugar is really coming, we’re taking this with a grain of salt until we get official word.
