Dr Pepper Introduces a Limited-Edition Dark Berry Flavor, So Get Ready to Crack Open a Can

Well, that was quick! Dr Pepper has confirmed to Best Products that the Dark Berry flavor is being released on May 1.
The limited-edition flavor has “intriguing fruit flavors such as blackberry, black currant, and black cherry,” according to the brand. You can get it in a 12-pack (of 12-ounce cans) for $5.29, or a 20-ounce bottle for $1.99.

There’s a new Dr Pepper flavor on the immediate horizon! A limited-edition Dark Berry flavor is already popping up in stores ahead of (what we’re pretty positive is) the release date.
On April 1, Dr Pepper’s official Instagram account posted a picture with the date May 1, 2019 and the caption, “This date seems... important 🤔." Now, I’m no private detective, but one can only assume that this means a new drink is on the way. Thanks to the power of the internet, we’re pretty sure we know what it is.
Cherry isn’t an entirely new venture for Dr Pepper. The brand has Dr Pepper Cherry and Dr Pepper Cherry Vanilla flavors already, so we’ll have to see how they compare to the Dark Berry.

The packaging shows that Dr Pepper and Marvel have teamed up to create the fruity flavor, since it features the Spider-Man: Far From Home film. It’s not hitting theaters until July 5, but it looks like we’ll be able to get our hands on the limited-edition Dr Pepper flavor way sooner.
The Dark Berry flavor has already been spotted in various states in cans and bottles. Some lucky people who attended the FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention got to try it this past weekend. The cans feature graphics, including London’s Big Ben. One taster said that “it was actually pretty good! It was sweet, but good.”
So, there you have it! Mystery solved (we think). We’ll update this post once the brand confirms that the Dark Berry flavor is what’s important about May 1.
