Dr. Martens and GANNI's New Boots Are Worth Fighting For

2023 is officially the year of collaborations, as more and more of our favorite brands are joining forces in celebration of landmark silhouettes and growing relationships. Next on the collab bingo card are Dr Martens and GANNI, teaming up to commemorate 10 years of DM's classic Jadon Boot.

Teased via Instagram earlier this month, the duo first shared a collaborative post which showcased a snippet of a campaign video. Within the video, we can see the classic Jadon silhouette has been reimagined with GANNI's signature design details. Not a far cry from the brand's recent New Balance collab, the new boot appears to feature the same standout yellow hue, this time appearing as visible stitching across the shoe's upper and laces.

"We love that GANNI's bold, progressive vibe aligns perfectly with our mood at Dr. Martens -- and that's what makes product design and partnership planning fun: when two partners' synergies can integrate seamlessly," begins DM's Creative Director, Darren Mckoy. "Together, we've crafted a product that represents both of our brands — a fusion of GANNI and Dr. Martens DNA aiming to finish 2023 on a high. And what better way than by celebrating 10 years of our iconic Jadon boot, the platform that started it all!" he adds.

The new release sees GANNI putting its signature stamp on a DM classic, fusing its butterfly logo with the distinctive silhouette, crafted from a blend of recycled and leather-free materials. Featuring yellow stitching and yellow accents around the laces, the remastered boot offers the same, wearable silhouette with an added edge.

"Dr. Martens takes me back to my teen years in the 90s, my forever favourite era. It's such a legacy brand, and its boots have transcended generations, becoming symbols of subculture, self-expression, and individuality. Being able to collaborate with them on their Jadon boot is such an honour. We wanted to pay tribute to the music scene, which has served as a massive inspiration for me and always felt like a place for connection," adds Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director at GANNI.
