Dr. Martens is teaming up with entertainment studio Warner Bros. to pay homage to two iconic film franchises, marrying footwear and the world of cinema.

In celebration of the entertainment studio’s 100th anniversary, Dr. Martens is taking inspiration from two classic Warner Bros films, “Blade Runner” (1982) and “Mad Max: Fury Road.” While not much is known yet regarding the collaborative footwear collection, it seems that both films will receive two of their own ankle-length boot interpretation.

The “Blade Runner”-inspired boots feature futuristic checkerboard prints cast in black and white hues with touches of red. Alternatively, the “Mad Max: Fury Road”-inspired footwear is cast in desert-esque shades of green and brown, tapping into that post-apocalyptic feel with worn and tattered uppers accompanied by silver hardware.

Dr. Martens and Warner Bros.’s footwear collaboration will be available for purchase on Thursday in Europe and Asia and on Nov. 24 in the US at drmartens.com.

This isn’t the first time the two companies have collaborated. Back in 2022, the institutions came together to pay homage to another Warner Bros. classic, “The Lost Boys.”

Founded in 1947, Dr. Martens is a German-founded British footwear and apparel brand with individuality at its core. The company originally began making humble workwear boots and even sold their wear as gardening shoes at one point. The inventor of Dr. Martens Klaus Marten was a doctor in the German Army during World War II. The brand’s name references the inventor’s former profession.

The shoe style we know today was created in Germany and became a huge part of popular culture. The brand’s iconic yellow-stitched footwear was massive in the grunge and punk scene in the ’90s and has since become a closet staple for many generations.
