Jill Biden and fashion designer Tory Burch are getting real about what it's like to be an entrepreneur, especially during a pandemic. Hosted by the Biden for President campaign and streamed on Glamour's Facebook page, the Mobilize Main Street event addresses how best to promote and encourage women in business, while also encouraging voter turnout for the upcoming election.

The discussion is moderated by The Lip Bar CEO and founder Melissa Butler and also includes insights from Rhonda Abrams, a small business owner and advocate, who is joining the conversation as well.

This talk couldn't be more timely, as many small businesses continue to struggle in light of the pandemic. And the data shows that the challenges that entrepreneurs are facing are compounded for women in business—especially those of color.

“Women-owned businesses, particularly women of color, are building our economy brick by brick in the face of adversity,” says Butler in a statement to Glamour. “And I’m thrilled to join Dr. Jill Biden and Tory Burch to reflect on the challenges women leaders face while also celebrating the impact of women-led small businesses have on their communities.”

Biden and Burch also touch on the Biden-Harris campaign's commitment to ensuring entrepreneurs can get back on track once the pandemic subsides. You can watch the full talk on Glamour's Facebook page or below.
