Washing your workout clothes can be tricky. The tag says to wash them in cold water on the delicate cycle — but that’s not always enough to get the sweaty stink out of them. Maybe you’ve tried a creative vinegar and baking soda combination in your washing machine. However, the easiest way to get smelly odors out of clothes is to use Downy’s new Rinse & Refresh Odor Remover.

Downy Rinse & Refresh launched in major stores like Walmart and Target at the end of September, and the brand calls it its “biggest innovation in over 30 years.” It’s a deep-cleaning fabric rinse that helps remove odor-causing residue three times more effectively than detergent alone, according to a press release.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m a little self-conscious about the way my home and clothes smell. I usually wear perfume, and I’m always burning a candle. However, fabrics can hold onto odors for a while. Now, after working out, I wash my favorite Alo leggings and tops with Downy Rinse & Refresh.

I also recently got a puppy who’s had a few accidents in his bed, on my Ruggable doormat and even on my bedding (ugh!). I tried the Downy fabric rinse on these items to remove the smell of pet urine, and it really worked. Everything comes out smelling incredible — every single time.

Downy Rinse & Refresh comes in two lovely scents — Fresh Lavender and Cool Cotton — and it’s gentle on fabrics and skin. It also acts as a fabric softener, FYI. You can pour it into the fabric softener drawer or agitator cup when you do your laundry, or add it directly into the rinse cycle, depending on your machine.

It’s such an easy step to make your clothes and other fabrics smell amazing. Personally, I’m stocking up.
