Downtown Phoenix hotels are nearly full for World Series. Here's where else fans can stay

It's hard to find downtown Phoenix hotels with vacancies for the Arizona Diamondbacks' World Series home games against the Texas Rangers on Oct. 30, 31 and Nov. 1.

Many hotels are already sold out for Game 5, which would be necessary if the Diamondbacks or Rangers, don't win the series in four games. Game 5, scheduled for Nov. 1, coincides with downtown conventions and conferences.

Those who can't get a night in a Phoenix hotel within walking distance of Chase Field have other options.

Some fans are staying in hotels north of downtown along the Valley Metro light rail route, Phoenix Economic Development Director Christine Mackay said in a city session regarding the World Series' impacts on Phoenix on Friday.

Here's what World Series hotel availability looks like in different parts of Phoenix.

Downtown Phoenix hotels for the 2023 World Series

Games 3 and 4, scheduled for Oct. 30 and 31, are generating high interest for hotels near Chase Field. Yet, availability remains.

The Hyatt Place Phoenix/Downtown offered the lowest rates as of Friday afternoon, starting at $190 on Oct. 30 and $247 on Oct. 31. Most major chain hotels 1 mile or less from Chase Field have rooms ranging from $300 to $600 per night for both dates.

But downtown hotels are sold out for Nov. 1.

Two hotels near the Roosevelt/Central light rail stop, the Found:RE Hotel Phoenix and Cambria Hotel Downtown Phoenix, offered slightly lower rates than hotels near Chase Field, with rooms starting around $250 for Oct. 30 and 31 as of Friday afternoon.

Both are sold out for Nov. 1.

Midtown Phoenix hotels for World Series

Midtown room rates for Oct. 30 and 31 are comparable to Found:RE and Cambria. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix Downtown North had rates starting at $249 per night.

With few downtown hotel vacancies on Nov. 1 because of conventions, midtown Phoenix hotels along the Valley Metro light rail line are selling out fast.

The few hotels available are expensive. The Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Midtown had rooms starting at $431.

Hotels near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport for the World Series

Some fans are choosing to stay at hotels near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Marriott’s closest hotel to Chase Field with availability for Game 5 is the Marriott Phoenix Airport, about 5 miles away. Its rates for Nov. 1 start at $341.

IHG, whose brands include Holiday Inn, listed several hotels close to Sky Harbor and nearby Tempe where room rates range from $123 to $158 per night on Oct. 30 and 31. The chain's Phoenix airport hotels were under $200 per night for Nov. 1 as of Friday afternoon.

Hilton also operates multiple hotels near Sky Harbor, with rates ranging from $143 to $241 for Oct. 30 and $152 to $211 for Oct. 31. Rates are higher for Nov. 1, however; the chain's closest hotel to the stadium, Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Airport, is $209 that night as of Friday afternoon.
