Downtown Huntsville hosts 18-hole mini golf course FORE free

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — If you’re looking for a fun family-friendly activity, look no further than Downtown Huntsville.

Downtown Huntsville, Inc. has brought back the Downtown Open for the 5th year. It’s a free 18-hole mini golf course surrounding the Madison County Courthouse.

Each hole was designed and sponsored by a different Huntsville business.

If you’re interested in playing, swing by BeeZr or Honest Coffee Co. to pick up a putter, balls, and a scorecard. Just make sure you return the balls and putters when you’re done!

Downtown Huntsville, Inc. President & CEO Rob Buddo, says the Downtown Open is a great event for the whole family.

“It’s open for all ages,” he said.

Buddo especially encourages families to come out on Saturday, April 20th for the Downtown Open Block Party. It will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the square.

For an older crowd, he says the course is conveniently located in a “purple cup” entertainment district.

“If you’re out here at 8 o’clock tonight or Saturday night and you and a couple of friends want to grab a drink and walk around with a purple cup and play that’s also another thing that you can do,” Buddo said.

Buddo said the Downtown Open is one of his favorite events put on by Downtown Huntsville, Inc. each year.

“It’s really unique to our city,” he said. “You can just walk around and explore all that downtown Huntsville has to offer” he added.

The course will be set up through April 30th.
