The 'Downton Abbey' Castle Is Now Available to Rent on Airbnb
Downton Abbey fans will be given the chance to stay at its famous setting, Highclere Castle, for one night only via Airbnb on November 29. The listing will open on October 1, costing £120 ($149).
Two guests will be treated as if they were members of the Crawley family and will be able to explore the majestic rooms of the beautiful stately home. Guests will enjoy cocktails with the real-life residents of Highclere Castle, the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, in the Saloon followed by a traditional dinner in the State Dining Room, being waited on by Highclere Castle’s own butler.
After dinner, coffee will be served in the Library before the guests retire to one of the principal bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom and views over 1,000 acres of rolling parkland. In the morning, breakfast will be served followed by a tour of the castle's grounds.
