Dove Cameron Posted a Video of Herself Getting an Ear Piercing

Getting your ears pierced can definitely be painful, but Dove Cameron has some good advice: Just laugh your way through it.

The 23-year-old shared a video of herself mid-piercing on Saturday, August 17, and it seems as though she combatted the whole needle part with a strong case of the giggles. “The best & only time to have a panic-induced laughing fit is when someone has multiple needles in you & next to your face,” the Descendants 3 star wrote in the caption. In the black-and-white clip, we hear Dove shout “wheeeee” followed by “spring breeeeaaak” as the piercing artist goes to work on her new jewelry.

“You guys he really whispered ‘sprang breeeaaak’ at me right before he stuck the needle in & I was NOT ready,” she explained on Insta, adding, “Also me being like ‘weeeee’ because I’m actually going to bolt and I’m trying to tell myself something fun is happening.”

In another post, Dove showed off her piercings: a tiny stud in her upper cartilage and a conch piercing adorned by a slim hoop. Oh, and her new jewelry isn’t the only noticeable change in the ’gram; Dove is also rocking pastel-tinted hair, pulled back in a messy braid. Channeling her inner VK, perhaps?

Since bidding farewell to her Descendants journey, Dove has been busy promoting her newest film, Angry Birds 2.

On Instagram, Dove recently made a feminist statement with a braless selfie, explaining her choice with a passage from the book Singing Woman: Voices of the Sacred Feminine. “Women have a history that has been systematically suppressed,” Dove wrote alongside her selfie. “Our collective spirituality has largely been tainted to fit the needs of men and those in power. This has a profound effect on the self-esteem of girls and the women they become. This influence can be seen in their life choices, partners and financial security for the rest of their lives. It also has an effect on the way their future partners will view them — and ultimately treat them. Our girls deserve better.”
