Can't afford Dior? These perfume dupes smell just like luxury fragrances — and start at only $26

Dossier's scents at Walmart are dead ringers for favorites from Jo Malone, Yves Saint Laurent and more without the hefty price tag.

Fragrance has always played a big role in my beauty journey. I have a whole collection of pretty florals and fruits, ambers and musks — one for casual days, another for meetings when I need a confidence boost, and more for date nights and special occasions. They scent my life. The price, though, of high-end perfumes can be a barrier. Enter Dossier, a budget brand taking the perfume industry by storm. They've cut out the fluff to deliver fragrances that smell high-end (yes, really!) at a super wallet-friendly price.

These eight perfume dupes at Walmart range between $26 and $49, and are inspired by some of the most popular fragrances on the market — think Dior, Jo Malone, Yves Saint Laurent and more. They're also backed by thousands of glowing five-star reviews. Whether you're shopping for the perfect gift or looking for a new (or cheaper) scent for yourself, you'll be pleasantly surprised by these perfumes that are practically interchangeable with their designer counterparts and cost a fraction of the price.

For those who love their perfumes to smell like you stuck your nose into the center of a mixed floral bouquet and took a deep breath, this is for you. Miss Dior is an iconic floral fragrance of Damask rose, peony and white musk. It's sweet, elegant and understated. Dossier was able to capture that same essence with similar notes, plus the addition of a fruity layer. Apricot and raspberry give it the sweetness without being too pastry-like, then mandarin and bergamot keep it citrusy and fun. This scent is a little playful yet not too immature.

This review told us everything we needed to know to add to cart: "I would say this is 9/10 spot-on for a dupe. The OG is my favorite perfume. I bought a full-sized bottle once and was so sad by the lack of longevity. For $100+ dollars per bottle, I had expected the scent to last several hours — really more like a whole workday. As beautiful and well-balanced as it was, before mid-morning she was barely a whisper of herself. Now, the Dossier impression is very accurate, but with big bonuses. Namely, she lasts, like I can still clearly smell her at the end of the evening from a 7am application."

We like to think this is the perfume Cameron Diaz's character would wear in the movie The Holiday. It's the scent to buy if you want to live out your Nancy Meyers main character daydream — cozied up in a cabin with your honey while the snow falls outside. Sage and sea salt might sound like the start of a cocktail but it lends a lightness to the scent. Then add grapefruit and fir tree, and you have a balanced, nature-inspired fragrance at a price far kinder to your bank account than the popular Jo Malone version.

Fans recommend applying lotion before spraying on your scent to help with longevity. "It is the perfect daily, unisex scent. I went through an entire bottle. ... It is light, airy, and not overpowering but lasts a fair amount on clothes and skin," said one.

Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume is famous for being a single note fragrance. Yes, you read that correctly. What normally plays a supporting role, Cetalox, a synthetic version of ambergris, has the starring role in this bottle. Rather than one single ingredient, Dossier layers several musks and Cetalox to create the aptly named Musky Musk. The genderless scent is great for people who want something natural and skin-like that isn't just, well, skin.

"At first I was confused. I did a test spray on the box and when I went to smell it I didn't smell anything. I thought, that's weird, I find that most fragrances especially luxury scents are very strong. ... So I sprayed this all over myself — like way more than I would do with any other perfume because why not if it smells like nothing! And to my surprise, it developed into this sensual deep warm but clean scent. It's a little vague and understated but still makes you smell good without being obnoxious," said this excited user.

The holidays are a great time to buy fragrances, after all scent is tied to memory and who wouldn't want to be the one who bought that strong aura of nostalgia. However, the price can be a barrier if you're not 100 percent certain of what your receiver would enjoy. Dossier makes that a little easier because for under $30 you can get a luxury-smelling fragrance. Inspired by YSL's Y, Aromatic Pineapple is a little bit spicy, a little bit fruity and a lotta bit fresh. Sage and cedarwood give a woody element that many men are searching for in their fragrances.

Take it from someone who calls this her husband's "signature scent." "This is very traditionally masculine but with a hint of something more. That pineapple note just makes it more unique. He sprays this on his work shirt at the beginning of the day and it lasts. You can still smell the silage when he walks in the car 12 hours later."

As I mentioned earlier, I have a new scent for every occasion. However, Carolina Herrera's Good Girl is as close as I have ever gotten to a signature scent. Tuberose, jasmine and tonka bean combine to create a sophisticated floral with a warm layer. It is sexy with a capital S. The inclusion of almond, cocoa and vanilla creates that warm undertone in the Dossier alternative. Then the signature tuberose floats through the scent from beginning to end.

At just $29, you can't beat the price. "This perfume is amazing! Honestly, it smells better than Good Girl in my opinion," raved a fan. "It lasts such a long time, I’ve had mine for only two months and I’ve barely made a dent in it. The scent is not overpowering at all and I get tons of compliments everywhere I go. Highly recommend!

If you know Baccarat Rouge, then you know: The perfume is insanely unique, but also insanely expensive — $205 for 1.2 ounces thanks to ambergris, a rare and expensive ingredient that lends the sweet and slightly musk note to scents. Dossier found a way to replicate the intoxicating nature that smells slightly different on each wearer with saffron, amber, cedarwood and jasmine. At $49 for 1.7 ounces, that's a 79% discount for the alternative.

More than 5,000 shoppers gave this scent five stars. "I'm in love. I have had people stop me and say how good I smell," wrote one convert. "This smells so good. I can actually have my husband wear this as it is a great unisex scent. I hope this scent does not go off the market! Don't hesitate — buy this and you will love the way it smells."

Before she created her own fragrance, Rhianna was known to wear Killian Love Don't Be Shy. With key notes of vanilla, orange blossom and marshmallow, the scent is sweet with just enough citrus notes to balance it. The Dossier version nailed it — marshmallow as a top note that cuts that sugary edge with orange, honeysuckle and jasmine. Base notes of vanilla, amber, and musk ground the scent.

For those who love dessert-like perfumes that smell like orange creamsicle ice cream, this is for you. "I love this fragrance. It’s unusual. It’s floral but also has the scent of marshmallow. At first I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I really do. It’s yummy and sexy — so unexpected in a fragrance. And I like that. I want to wear it every day," said one Walmart reviewer.

If you were a magazine lover in the 2010s, then you likely remember Lancome's La Vie Est Belle ads with Julia Roberts. The perfume has lasting powers in more ways than one as its still one of the most popular perfumes in 2023. A sweet gourmand fragrance with hints of spice, the original scent has patchouli, vanilla and iris. Dossier leans a little harder into the fresh notes with orange blossom but is a great alternative for a fraction of the price. Patchouli and tonka bean lend an earthy note that keeps this scent sophisticated, rather than sugary. It's a great daytime scent for special events — weddings, birthdays, dates — as it lingers yet doesn't overpower.

Reviewers describe it as "beautiful, feminine, and floral." "The very initial note is orange blossom, which instantaneously gives way to a unique floral scent that is tempered by more gourmand base notes," said one shopper. "It reminds me of the feeling of when I visited Paris during a two-month backpacking trip across Europe, and I would sit at the cafe eating the most delicious croissants and drinking shots of espresso while people watching and generally feeling youthful and optimistic about life."
