Doria Ragland Insists Meghan Markle "Will Always Be OK"

Meghan Markle can count her mother, Doria Ragland, as one of the strongest members of her support group. And, as her mother, Ragland says that through the controversial decision to step back from life as a full-time royal, Markle will be just fine. A source told People that Ragland "says Meghan is strong and will always be OK."

Ragland would know. She spent much of the holidays with Markle and Prince Harry, which is when they reportedly mapped out what their lives would be like post-split from the royal family, shifting instead to charitable initiatives and other philanthropy under the name Sussex Royal.

Ragland lives in Los Angeles and has spent a considerable amount of time with Markle after she married Harry. Before and after Markle gave birth to Archie, Ragland traveled to the U.K. to be with her daughter at Frogmore Cottage.

"She says her grandson is the cutest," the source added.

It's not just Markle that leans on her. A second source told People that Ragland and Harry also share a close relationship.

"She and Meghan are so close," the source noted. "Harry really gets on well with her, too. Any new mom wants her own mom around at this time, so it's great."

Ragland is just one part of Markle's close circle. She was recently seen picking up her friend Heather Dorak from Victoria International Airport and her friend Jessica Mulroney was caring for Archie while Markle was jetting two and from England last week. Actress Janina Gavankar was the woman behind the lens for the Sussex's Christmas card and Meghan's Suits co-star Abigail Spencer spent time with the royals after the holidays.
