Don't Worry Bebes: 'Schitt’s Creek' Season 6 Is on Netflix Now

From ELLE

Update, 10/4: On Saturday, Schitt's Creek co-creator Dan Levy announced on Twitter that the show's sixth season and it's behind-the-scenes documentary came to Netflix four days earlier than its original release date.

"Surprise! Season 6 & the Best Wishes, Warmest Regards documentary just dropped early on @netflix@Netflix_CA! Have a great weekend!," Levy wrote. He added an "all things considered" to his "have a great weekend" message. Because...you know.

Update, 9/22: Just days after Schitt's Creek made Emmys history, Netflix has officially announced when the sixth and final season will be hitting the streaming service.

Schitt's Creek's last season will premiere on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada starting on October 7—which, by the way, was only a day off from our prediction, below.

The show dominated this year's Emmys, winning all the major comedy awards, including outstanding comedy series, writing for a comedy series, and directing for a comedy series. Oh, and the entire Rose family snagged awards for their performances.

But the good news just keeps on coming: It's been announced that the entire show will also be airing on Comedy Central starting October 2. According to Variety, Comedy Central is scheduled to show five episodes every Friday. As Moira might say, what a marvelous revelation!

Original post, 9/20: We officially said a teary goodbye to the Rose family back in April when the beloved Canadian sitcom Schitt's Creek came to an end, finishing out its sixth and final season. (There will be no spoilers here for those who have yet to watch, but just know those last episodes were simply the best.)

If you were unable to catch season 6 when it aired on Pop TV back in the winter, you're most likely wondering when you can finally stream it on Netflix. Thankfully, the show's creator and star Dan Levy let the answer slip on an episode of the YouTube series Hot Ones.

In his episode, Levy mentioned that the final season of Schitt's Creek will be coming to Netflix this October. Now, Levy didn't specify which day in October, but we can take an educated guess by looking at past seasons: Both season 4 and season 5 of Schitt's Creek started streaming on Netflix six months and a day after they wrapped on Pop TV. Since season 6 aired its final episode on Pop TV on April 7th, we can safely guess the season will air on Netflix starting October 8th.

If you cannot wait that long, you can also watch the show through the Pop TV app and website by logging in through a cable provider. You can also purchase the show on Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube, and Apple TV, or watch through YouTubeTV or Hulu + Live TV, if you have a subscription. (Heads up, YouTubeTV and Hulu + Live TV also offer free trials.)

But you don't live in America, there's a chance the sixth season is already available for you on Netflix. Back in May, the streaming service announced the season was released in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, India, and the U.K.

And if you're still reeling from the series' end, take heart in knowing that the finale was chosen with care. On his episode of Hot Ones, Levy explained why he decided to finish the show, saying, "I am such a fan of television that I understand how quickly a legacy of a show can be tarnished by overextending itself. And for me, it was so important that people walk away at the end of our show still loving it as much as they did when they started." He continued, "I would hate to take a show past its expiry date and have people suddenly say, 'Yeah, I watched it until episode six and then it sort of got...' That's not what you want."
