  • Meghan Markle reportedly just gave birth to her first child.

  • The palace confirmed it!

After nine months of giving us the best maternity fashion inspiration and absolutely slaying in those high heels (we bow down), Meghan Markle gave birth in Windsor on May 6!

The palace first announced Meghan was pregnant back in October 2018 and just confirmed she welcomed a beautiful baby boy outside of London, which is a departure from Kate Middleton’s tradition of giving birth at the Lindo Wing in a London hospital. There were rumors that Meghan would have a home birth, but nobody knows yet if that’s true.

The palace confirmed the news of the baby’s birth and said Meghan and Prince Harry’s son was born at a healthy 7 pounds and is probably resting up right now.

Meghan and Harry have not publicly commented on their new addition to the family just yet because, I don’t know, they’re too busy being doting first-time parents.

However, the palace did release a statement, saying:

“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”

It’s not totally clear how much time off work Meghan and Harry will take, but in England, parents can share up to 50 weeks of leave. Meghan and Harry live in Windsor at Frogmore Cottage, which they’ve outfitted with a fancy home monitoring system and vegan paint, because ethics. Basically, this baby is about to live in a home fancier than you could ever imagine. Lucky him!
