Who is Donna Sweett on "Riverdale" and What is She Hiding?

From Seventeen

Warning: Riverdale season 4 episode 15 spoilers ahead.

She played it cool in the beginning, but 15 episodes into this season of Riverdale and it is extremely clear that Donna Sweett is the bad guy of season four. She's manipulative, cunning, and capable of murder, but most importantly, she's mysterious and there's still a lot that we don't know about Donna Sweett, though something tells me, everything will be revealed very soon. Until then, I've gathered all the info we do know about the Stonewall Preppy. Maybe we can figure out her secret before the Core Four even get on the case.

Who is Donna Sweett?

Donna was introduced way back in episode two of this season, though for awhile, she didn't play a very significant role in the plot. She entered the story as one of the other four students in Jughead's Stonewall Prep seminar and she immediately gains Jug's trust by warning him of Brett, their other classmate. Of course, this is Donna's biggest asset—she makes Jughead feel comfortable around her. For the first half of the season, Jughead, Betty, and the audience thought Brett was the threat, when really it was Donna the whole time.

Fast forward to Mr. Chipping's "suicide" (I put that in quotations because we still don't know what exactly happened to the Stonewall Prep teacher). This is, of course, when Donna says she was having an affair with Mr. Chipping and he killed himself after she broke things off and said she would go to the headmaster and tell him everything. We now know this was all fake, though it's still unclear what happened to Chipping.

And then, the real Donna comes out, starting with the night of Jughead's assault aka his supposed murder. On the night in question, Donna took Betty into the woods and blew Devil's Breath on her to make her black out. She and/or Brett then hit Jug in the head with a rock. They think he's dead (though his beanie softened the blow) and they place the rock in Betty's hand in order to frame her.

Now, Donna is doing anything to pin Jughead's murder on Betty, and she will stop at nothing to do so. She follows Betty around, tries to get Brett to open Jug's casket, and even harasses Jughead's family. It seems that she's even willing to kill her friends to get what she wants...

Who plays Donna Sweett?

Donna is played by Sarah Desjardins, a 25-year-old actress from Canada. Aside from Riverdale, she also stars on the YouTube Originals series, Impulse.

What's next for Donna?

It's safe to say we haven't seen the last of Donna Sweett this season. She has proven that she is willing to do anything to pin this crime on Betty. As far as she knows, Jughead is dead, she and Brett killed him, and they need to frame Betty. At the end of episode 15, we see Donna desperate to finish off the job. When Brett doesn't want to comply anymore, she threatens him, warning him that he will "go the way of Jonathan" if he ever undermines her again.

Hm, the way of Jonathan? Jonathan is one of the other members of the Stonewall Prep seminar, and it seemed like he was on Brett and Donna's team in all of this. Now, though, it sounds like Jonathan may have resisted a little, and Donna did something unspeakable to him, though it's unclear what. On top of that, we still don't know exactly what happened to Mr. Chipping, but I'm going to guess Donna was involved. Is it possible that she has two murders (and the assault of Jughead) under her belt? I wouldn't put it past her. Fortunately, Betty and Jug are on the case, and it's only a matter of time before Donna gets what she deserves.
