Donald Trump's Empty Tulsa Rally Arena Seats Have Become a Meme

Over the weekend, President Donald Trump hosted a campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While POTUS bragged about the one million tickets (even though the entire population of Tulsa County is just over 600,000) and TikTokers and K-Pop stans claimed that they reserved tickets as a clear sign of activism, the internet did what it does best and turned some of the images from Donald Trump's Tulsa rally weekend into LOL-worthy memes. The best included contrasting the less-than-stellar turnout to the Tulsa rally to other high-profile events, both real-life and fictional.

In a not-so-surprising turn of events, Trump's crowd was significantly smaller than the audiences pulled in by the Wiggles and Lizzie McGuire, though to be fair, McGuire wasn't performing at the same venue (the Bank of Oklahoma Center, which seats 19,200) — she performed at Rome's Colosseum, which seated 50,000 in its heyday. Other notable comparisons included Coldplay, which also held a concert at the BOK Center, and Ariana Grande. Just for fun, Twitter tossed in some comparisons of events such as a Gillian Anderson personal appearance, which drew 10,000 fans compared to Trump's 6,200.

It wasn't just the main event that got meme'd, however. Trump's disheveled appearance upon returning to the White House on Sunday morning drew parallels to a walk of shame and, of course, Twitter made quick work of that, too, setting the footage to Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is," R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts," and Simon & Garfunkle's "Sound of Silence."

And to finish it off, a few Twitter users got straight to the point, suggesting that there was now a clear visual to accompany the term "defeated."
