Donald Trump Jr. swims in a literal swamp — with alligators! — to win a bet

When someone made a bet that Donald Trump Jr. wouldn’t jump into an alligator-infested bayou, the president’s son not only accepted the challenge, he took home the prize money as well.

Trump Jr. was in Louisiana last weekend, and he documented his trip on Instagram. On Sunday he posted several photos of him swimming in a swamp and explained in the caption that someone had bet him a “good sum” that “the guy from New York City” wouldn’t swim with the gators. “Easy money!” he wrote.

His followers sounded off in the comments. “Are you CRAZY! Those gators eat people WALKING by them around here!” one wrote. “Dude. Not smart,” said another. “Not a good example for your little guys,” someone else said. “Even the gators didn’t want u.”

Lucky for him, there seemed to be no alligators in sight.

And if there had been any, his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, could have jumped in to save him. The former Fox News host joined him in Louisiana; they posed in photos together after a gator hunt.

The couple was there for Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry’s annual gator hunt fundraiser. They participated in all the festivities, from hunting to gumbo-making.

According to Nola.com, Trump Jr. also made a speech at the fundraiser. “This is not your typical Reagan-day rubber-chicken dinner. This is a fun one,” he said. “I’m excited to come back down here. … You guys do have the best food in the country.”

And, as Jezebel reported, a video of his speech that has since been taken down revealed Guilfoyle grabbing the mic from Trump Jr. and saying, “Move over, big daddy! Mama’s here.” She went on to express how nice it was to get out of New York City, where a lot of “haters” live.
