Listen up, Community fans. Donald Glover, 39, just shared some exciting news about the upcoming movie that’s going to have you saying cool cool cool for the rest of the week.

In a recent interview with GQ, the actor and producer had a chance to break down the most iconic roles he played throughout his career, and on the top of the list was his character Troy Barnes from the NBC sitcom, Community.

During the interview, Glover shared that the cast and crew are supposed to start filming the follow-up film very soon. “The Community movie, there’s some progress on it,” he told the outlet. “We’re supposed to be shooting it soon.”

While the Atlanta creator revealed that he doesn’t know much about the film, he did confirm that the Community movie is still a go. “Haven’t seen a script. In true Dan [Harmon] fashion, will probably get it on the first day,” Glover revealed. “But yeah, it’s supposed to be happening. I know just as much about it as you do.”

Back in September 2022, Peacock officially announced that the original cast would reunite to film the long-awaited Community: The Movie. Aside from the main cast, the show’s creator Dan Harmon and executive producer Andrew Guest are coming back as well.

Once the exciting news spread like wildfire on the internet, actor Joel McHale (who played Jeff Winger in the series) celebrated the announcement by sharing a famous quote from the show and tagging his former castmates on Twitter.

Created by Dan Harmon, Community follows a cunning lawyer named Jeff Winger (McHale), who gets his license revoked and is forced to enroll at Greendale Community College. In an effort to pass his classes, he creates a library study group with six other students: Troy (Glover), Abed (Danny Pudi), Annie (Alison Brie), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Pierce (Chevy Chase) and Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown). The show ran for six seasons until ending in June 2015.

Don’t mind us, we’ll just be patiently waiting for a release date over here.
